GameBreakers Privacy Policy
Version: 2026-10-17 Effective Date: 2026-10-17
This Privacy Policy explains how GAMEBREAKERS LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("GameBreakers," "we," "us" or "our"), collects, uses and shares information about you when you use the GameBreakers application, website and services.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: username, email address, hashed password.
- Linked game accounts: your Steam ID and public Steam profile data (persona name, avatar) when you link an account; similar identifiers for other supported games.
- Gameplay & match data: challenge history, in-game statistics relevant to a Challenge you participate in, and Game State Integration data your game client sends to our local overlay application while a Challenge is active.
- Evidence submissions: screenshots you or an opponent submit to verify a match result for evidence-verified games, including any incidentally-visible on-screen content.
- Payment information: processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we receive confirmation of transactions and limited billing metadata, not your full card number.
- Device & usage data: IP address (including at the time you accept these Agreements), application version, and basic diagnostic/log data.
- Residence & location: the state of residence you give us and the address on your identity document, and the approximate location (country and state) derived from your IP address each time you sign up, pay an entry fee, deposit or withdraw, including whether the connection appears to come from a VPN, proxy or Tor. We use a third-party IP-geolocation provider for this; we do not collect precise GPS location.
2. How We Use Your Information
To operate your account and wallet; to verify Challenge outcomes; to detect and investigate fraud, cheating, or abuse; to process deposits and withdrawals; to comply with legal and anti-money-laundering obligations (see our AML/KYC Policy); to confirm you are eligible to use paid features where you live and where you are (see Section 10 of our Terms of Service); to communicate with you about your account or Challenges; and to improve the Service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information with: our payment processor (Stripe), to the extent necessary to process deposits/withdrawals; game publishers' official APIs (e.g. Riot Games) or your own local game client's Game State Integration feed, solely to verify match outcomes you participate in; service providers who help operate the Service under confidentiality obligations; law enforcement or regulators when required by law or a valid legal process; and another Challenge participant, limited to your public username, avatar, linked game profile, and Challenge-relevant statistics or evidence — necessary for head-to-head verification and dispute review. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a period after closure as required for legal, tax, and anti-fraud recordkeeping obligations (see our AML/KYC Policy). Evidence screenshots are retained for {{EVIDENCE_RETENTION_PERIOD — e.g. 180 days}} after a Challenge resolves, or longer if tied to an open fraud investigation or dispute.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling it, and some information (e.g. records required for AML compliance) cannot be deleted while a legal retention obligation applies.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (password hashing, encrypted transport, access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
8. Local Storage & Session Data
The GameBreakers desktop application stores your session token and basic profile locally on your device to keep you signed in. Clearing the application's local storage or uninstalling the application removes this local data; it does not delete your account or server-side records.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes require you to re-accept before continuing to use money-related features, consistent with our Terms of Service.
